This lady seems to be a successful actress, because she has her own dressing-room and a private door-keeper. It is obvious that she and Mr. Thomas Fennel were lovers, but something has happened (as I can guess from the second question-he was unfaithful) and now she seems to be very angry with him, she wants to act as if there had never been anything between them.
If I knew about my partner’s unfaithfulness I would break up with him immediately, because I won’t be able to believe him anymore, to forget the betrayal, he’ll always be under suspicion. But this is the situation by now. I’m not sure that I’d do the same in the future, when I’ll have husband and children. Probably my answer wouldn’t be so immediate, because too many things would be on the stake. I‘d try to analyze the situation, to find out the reasons and the seriousness of this relationship and then decide how to act. But still, I think, I’d never be able to forget the unfaithfulness.

If I won 1 million dollars…
Oh, that would be great! The first thing that came to my mind -I’d buy everything I want, like a nice car, beautiful house somewhere on the Pacific ocean, a lot of clothes and jewelleries and so on and so forth. Absolutely sure I’d travel around the world and study somewhere abroad.
But still I don’t think that it’d be right to spend this sum alone, no doubt, I’d share it with my parents, because they gave me everything they could. One more thing, to have a prosperous future, I’d start some kind of business, for example, I’ve always dreamed to have some restaurants or hotels or shops or all together, the last variant is for sure the best one.

It was the portrait of a very handsome young man, Dorian Grey, whose appearance was absolutely perfect. So, the artist, as a person with a sharply developed feeling of beauty, was in love with this excellence, with this unbelievable perfection, with this embodiment of grace. Admiring this magnificence during the process of creating the picture, the painter has put too much of himself into this portrait, that’s why he didn’t want to exhibit it, he just couldn’t share it with other people, he thought that the public is too vulgar to appreciate this beauty and he was also afraid, that someone will notice his feelings.

«A Kiss before Dying» by Ira Levin
The young man wants to get married with Dorothy next summer with her father’s permission. He seemed to be so nice, but only before the news of Dorothy’s pregnancy, because it could destroy everything. He knows enough about being poor and Dorothy is an excellent chance to forget about it till the end of his life. In fact, not Dorothy herself, but her father’s money. The most important thing in the young man’s plan is to get his approval. So, he don’t care about Dorothy, her love or their baby, he’s in love with money, this is his only passion, that’s why he convinces her, that she mustn’t have this baby. For this man money became more important than love. I think that being married to a very rich man/woman without love hardly can make anybody absolutely happy, maybe just for a while, because it’s easy to become bored of money, but not of love. On the other hand, it’s hard to be absolutely happy having no money too, because the difference between desirable and possible will always become the reason of quarrels. So, I believe that in these relations between love and money, like in many others in our life, we should search the golden mean.

Actually, before understanding one’s nationality or religious preferences a man becomes a person. And while people can be similar in national or religious aspects, they are absolutely different in their personal identity and this is the thing which makes it so important in the life of every person. Each of us has one’s own unrepeatable character, habits, which form our behaviour; each of us has some pluses and minuses. We all are individual.
In fact, sometimes because of these distinctions people can’t understand each other, but still we can’t imagine that at least two people have the same character and hardly can find a person who would like to meet his/her personal copy.

Afternoon pages.
Having read this extract, it’s easy to understand that the heroin and Barry are lovers, because every time she saw him her heart lurched and he looked at her with love, though his eyes were distorted by pain. They loved each other and it seemed nothing could separate them, but the death. And this single reason became their tragedy. Their happiness that seemed to be so close is slipping away now and there is no hope, only humility. Her heart is bursting with pain, but she is trying to be strong, engraving him, sharing her news with him. It’s very hard for her to see him now, looking so thin and wasted, losing his strength day by day. She doesn’t want to let him go and she can’t go with him.

First of all – love for his/her profession, because it’s impossible to work with children without loving it – it would be a torture for both the teacher and the pupils. Good knowledge of the subject and especially the ability to explain it appropriately to students are the inalienable characteristics of a great teacher, because sometimes teacher with an excellent knowledge can’t make his/her material comprehensible and interesting enough. Of course, most of the jobs demand patience, but this is a special case – we can make a parallel with the title - great teacher – great patience. Finally, as the teacher should evaluate pupils’ knowledge with the corresponding marks, he/she should be as just as a judge in a court and have no preconceptions by entering a classroom.
